Spiritual Son is Naneum’s seventh LP since he first started the band in 2018. After an experimental drum and bass album Solo went back to his roots and created a harmonic landscape of piano and synths. “I feel most comfortable writing on the piano.” This album explores simple repeating melodies backed by strings and synths which pulls the listener into a world of hope and solace. The title Spiritual Son mirrors Solo’s journey as a musician. After spending a lifetime in front of the keys he’s come to peace that music is no longer something he does, but practices. “In creating this album I didn’t second guess the process. I’m lucky to be making music, and that’s the reward.”
